In these days a cultural revolution will shock the United Kingdom, but no one seems to realise so far.
Damn, I did it again… no this time I don’t want to write about snorting Kate Moss. Nor is the Queen finally going to die, actually one day she will, but I can’t imagine she is planning it for the next days. Anyway, it is all a lot worse. It’s about fish and chips, the national British meal, and definetly the only one that isn’t to disgusting.
Fish and chips will disappear from the national food culture, as well as Bangers and Mash seem to become an endangered species on food lists. You must think now, what a stupid Belgian bloke is writing this blog, well I might be stupid and Belgian, but this time it is true. The parliament, based in Westminster, is consideryng a new law that will bann fat and salted meals, as well as fizzy drinks and sweeties in schools. It planns to fight in this way against obesite among youngsters. OK, fair enough I have to admit, this will solve the whole problem and no youngster will visit McDonalds anymore, except for their lovely summer prawn salad.
But I am a lot more afraid for the British foodculture. Imagine what might happen if the government pushes this law true… Every friday the school meal might sound like this :: steamed white fish with cooked vegetables…
