Am I Famous Now…

...I Am So Coordinated

#apt-get -h numbers

March 26th, 2006 by WebMatrix · 7 Made Me Smarter

Exactly 47 minutes already. YAST2 has installed 24% of the ‘after install’ online update. 4GB were installed in 1h04′. Estimated download size 268MB, DSL 8MB. FU.
I hate windows’ed linux distributions. I really do. But I wanted to give the ‘oh so wonderfull YAST’ a chance. FU. Give me apt-get, that’ll do. Thanks.

47 minutes long I have been clicking numbers. Seeing the same blogs over and over. No I am lying. I have seen almost 800 clicked numbers in the last days. I have seen several blogs over and over. Still clicked a number and saw the same blog again. Just saying.

I don’t care about how ‘Hot or Not’ my last 5 lines are. Probably I have pissed you of before anyway. Still I am ‘obliged’ to participate at that feature, even quarters of numbers get taken from me for it.
Add some lines of code and tables in your dbase, let the user decide what she/he wants to participate at and even more people will join your service. You can stay Beta for the next 4 years, it is popular to be beta lately. No one cares if your service is still beta, especially since your service is good. Even Windows is Beta. But don’t stick it under my nose all the time. Hide it decently.

Is it all about the ratio or the explosion? Numbers, numbers and once more numbers. I/You let them tell whatever I/You want. I am sitting on ‘my numbers’. Imagine I would daily click numbers , my numbers would grow. I don’t know what to do with the numbers. They all grow. In the account, number of ‘hot or not’ voters, the amount of 1-30 seconds visitors and the time spend clicking numbers. And the number of blogs I see allover.
Is my blog better with growing numbers? No fucking way. But I still do love my blog. No matter how ‘hot or not’.

Sometimes I consider starting a ‘personal blog network’. I love networking, I love apt-get.
# apt-get install qualitypersonalblogs

Maybe an idea to persue. Anyone (I already reserved a pretty pretentious snazzy domain name :D)? We could regularly proceed with
# apt-get update
# apt-get -u upgrade

    Some advice…

If you ignore the freaks on Nimbusters they’ll go away and hopefully some of those assholes will end up in prison.

Racism is a disease cured by education, unfortunately the people on Nim are lost causes.

    “apt-get install qualitypersonalblogs”

That would be a bloody small package, whereas “apt-get install crappypersonalblogs” would give you half the internet.

But I am totally with you on apt vs yast2. up2date also sucks. urpmi was pretty good, back when I was a Mandrakian, but Mandrake had too many other problems.

Now, give me apt or give me death chocolate. Or cash. Cash is good.
