I have been putting this of for a long time. The best and fastest hardware has never been really important to me and my computers usually run 2 years behind the presence.
A recent graphics card upgrade allowed me to finally go for a decent widescreen LCD monitor. If you’re used to 1600*1200 you don’t want to think of resolutions such as 1440*900, but my former graphics card didn’t support any bigger wide screen resolutions.
Not unless I dropped dual monitor. And that is a thing I’d never do. No way. But now my card supports 2 decent widescreens, so I ordered two last week.
Of course, lucky goose I am, when they finally arrived today I had to realise that one of both had 15 dead pixels. F**k!
Luckily the other was in perfect condition and now is on my desk. I had to rearrange my desk organization to suit the new hardware equipment but wide screen rocks!
Now I can only hope the store will send me a new one when they get the other, without waiting for HP. I don’t really want to wait 6-8 weeks and if they want to follow the official dead pixel way I might just cancel the order and order another one 2 days later.
I hope to get the other blog up and running over the weekend, I have some hours available this weekend. Just not enough to go visit the Onion Cellar.
