But I discovered a security hole in IE7 and MS Office 2007 : the files used to exploit the hole date from february 2005. Actually Office 2007 strengthens and provides perfect protection to the spyware. 5 Recent anti-spyware programs crashed on the file already.
But the spyware itself is not offensive, just phones home happily. No reason to panic, because I am sure none of you have your credit card details stored on your computer and all of you use different passwords for different services. ( ?! ) ( ??????? )
Did I mention the file dates from february 2005?
Further details have been send to MS.
Otherwise (and this is the real topic of the entry), the project I was contracted for as an external consultant got offered to me. I signed up for 2 years and will lead an own department, a department with for the company a rather small budget, but if I would own the same amount of money I’ld surely not consider going to work the next 2 years but would rather become VC.
This My wage explains why he wasn’t accorded a higher limit. :P
And although we have sorted the blogging issue (and will even create a development blog), no I will not disclose.
The rest of the week is filled with more meetings. I have until February 1st 2007 to build my team. An operation I start with today already : I have lunch with Really hot brunette to ask if she wants to join the team. She knows the required programming language you know.
And I am NOT wearing a suit today. :D
On a last note, a response to a recent comment from Croaker
The man who walks to the beat of his own drum but still comes out on top. An inspiration to us all.
In certain cases a certain type of aggressiveness can benefit one, surely in higher rank jobs, but the down side are 90+ hour weeks and the permanent desire need to learn new stuff…
Besides that, trust me, I have paid the price for listening to my own drum beat (and other beats) SEVERAL times. More times than I’ld like to admit. ANother important detail is the desire to improve yourself (and your situation) : even in following two years, if a better offer comes, I will take it. Period.
And finally, a little game : find the error (no Photoshopping was involved, this is a genuine screenshot).
And this blog won’t change (we’ll soon go back to some left open topics). Nor will I.
Now.meeting.then.lunch. ;-)
