Yesterday I got a really disturbing mail (yes even w@nkers like me occasionally get mail). People who know me, know I have a good side as well and help quite often local charities. A friend of mine runs an Emmaus Community near Manchester and this week I set him a new server and network up (read they wired and I configured remotely). In November he organizes an expedition to the Mount Everest. And I got ’selected’/offered to participate for the IT-support I gave them over the last few months. Yesterday he told me that he needs to know my answer on Monday since he wants to start the preparing the expedition.
Now everyone who reads here knows that beginning of May I am going to the the United States and not only to realize my ‘bartending dream’ but also to see my girlfriend. Yes I always wanted to work in the States and I really planned to pick up bartending again this year.
But now I have to decide what I do. I must honestly admit that I never dreamed of climbing the Everest, but this might just be a ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’. Yes I am aware of that most people never get that offer and above all it won’t even cost me a dime. But it would mean that I have to stay in the UK.
Actually I don’t want to miss this summer in Las Vegas. Yes it is true that there will be more summers, but… yeah I am a weenie and want to be with my girlfriend even more as just be in the US.
Although I think having made my decision and will go to the States instead of going to the roof of the world I must admit that it has cost me my sleep last night and will probably do in the next nights as well.
It is the Everest and I will probably never have that chance anymore. Luckily I can always say it is too d*mn cold up there.
For the stupid nerds who aren’t aware of it :: my grammar might su(k but I am still happier in life then you are. And I judge people on their behaviour not on their grammar.
Now I will finally go to read some blogs a thing I have ‘forgotten’ the last days and you should pay Lindsey Mitchell a visit. It are her last hours as my renter. She behaved.

Hmmm…you sound pretty insecure and defensive, madbull, to be declaring that you are “happier in life” than others. Yup, you indeed need to get laid or something, so go to the U.S.

bozette :: as if i give a fucking damn shit bout people who don’t know better as whine bout their ranking at botb… have a look at my botb’s records and you’ll understand… at least when you might have 20gram of brain inside of your head…
but basically… if i understand everything right… an ‘alliance’ against the ‘cheaters’ has been formed… so that isn’t cheating ?
if at least you were goodlooking i would say :: FU … bad luck…

Chill out, darling, your physical and intellectual insecurities are showing, and if you protest too much, we’ll see that they are indeed fact. ;-)

I don’t know man, I might have to revoke my link to you because you can’t follow the rules. And to think you were a cool blogger for about ten seconds…
Heh.

Your “grammar” endears us, madbull–well, some of us, and who knew you had a conscience??? :D
As for The Choice: perhaps delaying your visit to bartender heaven would allow you to arrive in style. Something good to tell the bar patrons, you know, “I just went to Mount Everest”, or “I just did tech support for an Everest climb”…might even get you laid with more enthusiasm.

I think it’s fine…the grammar issue. Some have it, some don’t — it’s that simple. My teenager son blogs and his grammar isn’t perfect but I still enjoy the blog and his sharing…and I enjoy, mostly, yours too! Ignore the others and keep your blogging up.
Nobody said you had to be perfect to blog!

Grammer? I thought this post was about Everest. And Everest sounds like just to much didn’t you ever see Vertical Limit.
