I had a blast. A fucking meme and I really did enjoy it. I can hardly imagine how serious a lot of people take/took the reboot. Anyway it is up, it looks horrible and that was the purpose of it. Hell, if there’s a contest worstest spring 2006 reboot I hope winning it. There’s no publicity like bad publicity, is there?
Why this? I hate memes, people who read this blog regularly know this. I don’t think this design is a real surprize to them. Nor do I believe that the reboot is business stimulating. But I do believe this, yes a design grows, it is a way to show how you feel or how professional you are if your blog is money orientated. But not something you do on command, especially not if it is your personal diary (with the exception of doing something for clients of course).
Are you going to repaint your house because 1500 people worldwide do it? Stop it. The hype is over. It all became mainstream. Let’s make some money out of it now.
Why money? I still remember the periods times not that long ago when bandwith was expensive. Times where huge sites needed ads to maintain the site. If you ran 3 years ago a site with 4 Dual Xeon servers it costed you big bucks. Today you can almost maintain 4 servers for the price of one some years ago. You’ll even have more bandwith with only one server as you had then.
Lets make money out of it now.
The Reboot don’t pay for itself!
Of course the reboot doesn’t pay for itself. Thousands of man and woman hours make the site popular. Big, damn big. Don’t you think that will all the interests around CSS-reboot people will advertize. Without such a cheap catcher?
Actually I am pretty sure that decent hosters with any business spirit would even provide you a server for free. All you would have to do is put decent badge/button on your site. No decent hoster would let you struggle for 16 hours before such an event.
Run as many damn ad campaigns as you want, but just don’t come with those cheap catchers. Maintain a little of value, I ‘beg’ you. Do you really think the ‘professionals’ as you call rebooters click?
So why not start whoring this blog as well. Be prepared for upcoming google adsense and if someone has an invite I’ld love to put blogads on here as well. I wanna be a whore, make me rich!
PS :: If you came here over the reboot site and are pissed off due to my english, I truly do hope you speak 4 languages just like I do. If your fourth is as good as my English, congrats. Languages are a bitch aren’t they?
PPS :: I do love this horrendous design because it was just too damn funny to make in such a ’serious event’.

But yes, shortly after the mail they went online again. Guess dreamhost felt offended.
And I have seen most rebooters I wanted to see. Besides that I am not going to browse 1000 sites. CSS Remix will keep me updated about interesting reboots hehe.
And most rebooters disappointed me, but I knew that apple’s design of the PowerBook site would set black/dark as standard for this reboot. Hence all the bright colours.

I love the design, so the colours blow my eyes and I’m wearing sunglasses, big deal .. people hate my dark layouts .. big fucken deal. It’s still a cool layout.
As for whoring yourself .. go hard .. so to speak .. hehehe
And english? I was brought up speaking two languages and I still can’t spell properly .. thats what spell check was invented for.
