Meebo and the newly (beta) launched ProfileLinker are a great thing for internauts united. But there is one thing I still miss. Over the years, or months, time anyone has been online we have collected many different profiles or IM addresses.
But in a more recent cyberlife many of us, me included, have started several blogs.
How can I promote all those blogs at once when I comment somewhere? So far I use different urls on different blogs I comment on. And people sometimes only read one of the blogs I write. Or I get reactions such as
When did you buy Jack of all Blogs?
uh….oh. Errr… Actually I am only the guy from AIFN who happens to write at FMIMIF JOAB. But thanks anyway Dude.
So how do I behave when commenting somewhere?
MyBlogLog is a good initiative but still not widely spread enough. Gravatar has his hickups too and isn’t THAT widely spread either. Blugger Blogger didn’t integrate gravatar.
Of course we all have an account for major services, but where do our hits go after some time? A blog we don’t update anymore? A sold blog?
What happens if the owner forgets about the claim on that blog for service X and there is no way to claim that blog?1
Technorati would be an option… if they didn’t suck that often. But they do support multiple claims.
Maybe I should create a new page, a landing page where I aggregate the feeds of everything I write and use that page. Like my lifestream.
A sort of This Is Me and This Is what I all write page. But then again… bloggers are lazy. So am I.
I can’t believe anyone really uses XFN and although already implemented here Microformats still are a long way to go. And don’t really offer me what I am looking for either.
Anyone has another idea?
Or do I need to grab another domain?2
1 Yes MyBlogLog you are meant.
2 If yes, all credits for the domain I just bought go to Liz Strauss.
2 have made me smarter ↓

Liz, having thought more about this, I do think a personal kottke.org alike page for multiple blog authors, an online writer’s folio, could be an interesting experiment [cough]
Only time can tell if and how such a site will influence traffic.
But still many questions stay open when it comes to make that site : simple aggregation? Archiving your entries (what with the intellectual property/content rights if you sell a blog) ? Aso.
