weekly music review fukkit

October 15th, 2006 by WebMatrix · No Shared Ignorance Wisdom

I was writing an entry about all the music I had listened to this week, trying to predict my last.fm chart for this week, when I visited last.fm to retrieve a link.

Imagine they had already updated the charts and my prediction was pretty wrong. I am sure I listened several times more to Skunk Anansie, The Sisters of Mercy and Les Négresses Vertes. I certainly listened more to John Mayer or A Tribe Called Quest. Hell, I even listened to 2 complete Sigur Rós albums.

Obviously there is a small problem with last.fm’s engine. Also last week several albums, mainly from Air weren’t counted in the charts. Check this week’s charts out here.
Oh well, instead of writing every week about what I listened to, I think I will only do it once a month.

This week’s/month’s advice : Beth Hart. I discovered Beth Hart at TheUberGeeks.net and immediately ordered the Live DVD. Not two days later I downloaded her 2 albums from iTunes. I have been listening to Beth Hart multiple times since then and surely will listen to her even more often.

If you like personal, lyrical music, strongly autobiographical, you need to listen to Beth Hart.
Her tracks deal with her former heroin addicted life, her anger, her confusion, her imbalance. Battling with her demons.

She got popular in 2002 with the L.A. Song.
